Help with cosmological argument? AS level?!?
Aristotle`s main belief was that the universe had never had a beginning and would never have an end. It was eternal. To Aristotle change would only come in cycles, for example water in the sea may evaporate and rain down again and rivers might come into existence and then dry up again but on the whole conditions would never change. Plato believed men were unequal to each other and philosophers were the only people justified in having absolute power as they were the only ones capable of knowing the truth of how to run society. Plato did not believe in democracy and believed the philosopher kings should rule while the rest of the people were viewed as lowly beasts. Aquinas believed that angels had 3 main purposes that were given to them by God. 1) The first was to worship God 2) The second to implement the will of God 3) The third to serve as messengers for God. He believed that angels were not equal in power and intellect but were divided into 9 choir groups with each choir having a different power and duty. Hope this helps...
