Why does my puppy poop so much?

Maybe it is just an underdeveloped bowel that will eventually mature. She is a 3-1/2 month old German Shepherd mix and she goes #2 about 4-6 times a day, is this normal? Our vet had us cut down her food to two cups a day but she still poops as much, we feed her Purina Pro Dog Chow.
