You are 100% correct. People need to be taught personal responsibility instead of how to be dependent. Peoples choices in life are the biggest factors in their success not how talented or capable they are. Lottery winners prove this all the time. Some will win $1.5 million and never need to work another day in their lives and be quite happy, while others may win 10 or more times that much and be broke and miserable within 5 years. It's all a matter of personal responsibility and accountability, not being dependent on others to provide for you.
