Ok so what else is?

Sometimes my friend Stacy goes with her mom to the 99 cent store to look at the clothes that are closeouts and get the really nice ones. These are definitely closeouts - items from Talbots, Old Navy, etc. However, when Stacy goes without any one Stacy grabs the ones Stacy wants, goes over to the side and checks them out - most of them Stacy brings home. However, when Stacy goes with her mom her mom will say something like “That is short, you don’t like short” or “look it over to make sure it is in good condition” Her mom says those things just when Stacy grabbed them off the rack and did not have time to look them over. Stacy starts to think "What if" her mom meant "Oh I think you would pick out things that look like crap." even though Stacy knows that isn't what her mother meant. DO you think Stacy overreacted and (2) do you think Stacy read into what her mother meant. (Every time Stacy brings home the close out sweaters/blouses from the 99 cent store her mom loves what Stacy purchased.
