milk as a pink eye remedy?`?

I've done research, and heard from friends that their pediatritions say that milk will work for pink eye.. because of the antibodies in the milk and it's sterile condition, if so do you know how long it's supposed to take for the pinkeye to go away with the milk cure.. how long should you wait to see if it isn't working?
